Innerspiral, Bristol, UK |
Innerspiral is a wool art design studio in Somerset, UK. It is the brainchild of Mr & Mrs Pig & Cat who are very happy in their world of beautiful wool, wacky creations and fibre experimentation. We like to think we push the boundaries when it comes to wool. Our ethic is natural fibres only, waste not want not, colour, shape, form, texture and quirks! Much of the fibre we use is hand dyed by us and our favourite toys in our studio are the drum carder, the Majacraft wheel and the drop spindle alongside giant piles of bubblewrap! We are also hoop dancers and we have a friendly little walkabout cart called PixieHoopSound that we take to festivals so that everyone can play with our hoops :) It is just possible that we are fancy dress fanatics and we like to live on the surreal side of life... If you would like to know more about us, visit our website at www.innerspiral.weebly.com |

First few pics are shots from our market last weekend. We were hosting our stall at frome craft market at the cheese and grain, and the next day with D&K at La Cock. The weather was terrible for both events which created a serious lack of foot fall. however we had an interesting time and supplied felt flowers and hats to a few lovely stall holders :)
the pictures after the stall is of me tonight wearing a hat i just finished. Its called the sloutch hat and its all about being seriously chilled out! I have just finished felting it and am going to wash it out after this post! these hats are so chilled out in fact that they will be at a rather nice price tag too, just 40 quid ! Expect to see them in our etsy shop soon, they can be custom ordered in your coulour choice and head size.
In other news I am at the Tobacco Factory market this Sunday. Its the Retroville market which means an emphasis on vintage and retro stalls, we get involved in as felting and spinning are kinda retro crafts! It will just be myself hosting the stall for the first time in a long time, as my lovely wife the felt cat has gone to Greece one week earlier than me to see her mum and sister! I will be heading out after the market on Sunday so its all good I’m not missing all the fun!
We will be staying in Palm Villas (AKA PV) http://www.palmvillas.gr/09/index.php so it will be nice and chilled out! (Thanks to mike)
anyway take it easy tumblers and keep your eyes peeled for more felt when we get back from Greece!
One love

Check out our new product here at the Innerspiral studio - seamlessly felted hoods. Pig is our in house template designer and he had a Eureka! moment… And they are so much fun to make. I tried out a new felt inlay and needle felt design on mine which I am really pleased with, and Trotters made two! One with a giant spike at the top and one with a cobwebbed scarf coming off it, both of them are awesome and he’s trying to decide if he should keep one… decisions, decisions…
We have a double market weekender coming up, both with D&K, so Frome on Saturday at the Cheese & Grain and Lacock on Sunday in the village hall. Both are new markets so we’re pretty excited! If you’d like to see the hoods for real plus all our other felt like waistcoats and hats (we will blog the amazing new orange top hat soon) then come along. We will also be demonstrating our Majacraft wheel by spinning art yarn live.
Cool well that’s all for now I got some cobweb scarfs to make!

Here’s a few of our snaps from the chippenham D&K market last weekend and a few pics from today. We somehow managed to forget to take any at the trinity market but i can tell you it was a fine market indeed! Both of my Romney felt hats found new homes last weekend, the top hat went to a nice young man at the trinity market and we swapped the trilby for a woven tree with some fellow polish stall holders at the Chippenham market. It was a great swap as we really wanted their tree and could not afford it and they really wanted one of our hats but most likely could not afford it lol. So an international barter took place and a deal was struck, a felt trilby for a woven tree and a mini woven bowl! great stuff :)
Been keeping busy this week ploughing my way through his dark materials (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/His_Dark_Materials), and when i have not been reading i have been making buttons and yarn! We have taken it a bit easier this week as we had a full on weekend and a full on week last week!
On saturday we will be at the Nailsea craft and farmers market (http://www.nailseatowncouncil.gov.uk/craft/craftmarket.php) with our stall. If the weather looks good we will be demonstrating some art yarn spinning on our spinning wheel! this is an early market so if you plan on comming it finish at 12.30….. can you beleve that! so get your skates on and come down in good time.

Our website…. now redeveloped :) Check it out
Its been a bit quiet on this blog for a few weeks and that is for a good reason, we have been moving house here at innerspiral. And this time lets hope its for the last time!
We have moved to the lovely village of paulton, near midsomer norton in Somerset! We are still close to Bristol, about 12 miles south. We are also close to Glastonbury, Wells, Bath and Frome so expect to see us at handmade craft markets in all these areas.
Our new place is a lovely small cottage called Holmlea cottage. We are just putting the final touches to our move and are now finally getting involved in making new lovely woolly products for you to enjoy. So keep your eyes peeled on our etsy shop where we will be uploading some nice new products.
Cheers
Paul & Sara
